There is a food lover in every one of us . We eat food for enjoyment, for social occasions, at family gatherings, with friends and also as a way of comforting ourselves when we feel miserable. For all of these times we choose foods that taste delicious to us. The  low-carb or ketosis diet as they are known structures your eating choices around the selection of protein sources like soy, poultry, fish, dairy and red meats like steak. In addition the diet is high in fibrous, crispy vegetables for example asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, spinach, lettuces, and peppers. Also fruits and, berries, cherries, melons and grapes, just to mention a few.  The diet will also allow you to eat limited size portions of starchy vegetables like beans, legumes,  beets, carrots and potatoes. Sugary foods however, are not allowed.  The only exception is small portions on an occasional sweet freak out, and of course Carbohydrate substitutes. You will still need to keep these foods within a reasonable limit though. Now even though you can eat protein and fatty foods with this sort diet you must keep to an absolute minimum the amount of carbs that you will eat. This is the reason they are called low carb diets. While you might look at this sort of diet as a form of refined torture you need not despair.This is even more so when you need to take into account the like and dislikes, or needs of the other people in your house hold that you are preparing a meal for. There are many low carb cooking recipes which you can find and try out to help you in your endeavors to keep or regain your desired weight and figure using low carb cooking. As you try these various low carb cooking recipes you may even enjoy your new food choices. There could even be a bonus in your new low carb cooking. That is your family and friends  might end up really liking some of these new meals.However because they are growing this diet should not used for children as their main diet as many of the nutritional needs of growing bodies are lacking.
